What Is a Moon Rock CBD?

A CBD moon rock is made in three superimposed layers, each adding an extra layer of resin and aromas.

First layer: a CBD hemp flower selected for its quality and density. This is the aromatic base and the heart of the product.

Second layer: the flower is dipped or coated in CBD hemp oil or resin (concentrated extract). This layer significantly increases the overall CBD content and enriches the aromatic profile.

Third layer: the coated flower is rolled in kief — the trichome powder harvested by dry sieving (dry sift). The kief covers the entire surface and gives the moon rock its characteristic powdery, frosted appearance.

The CBD content of a moon rock is higher than that of the flower alone because each coating layer adds extra cannabinoids.

The coating resin or oil is a concentrated hemp extract, which naturally contains more CBD per gram than the flower. Kief — trichome powder — is also more concentrated in CBD than the whole flower.

The result is a product where every gram contains more CBD than a classic flower, while remaining within the legal THC limit of < 0.3%.

Due to its density and triple oily coating, the CBD moon rock must be prepared with care to appreciate its aromas.

The recommended method is vaporisation: cut the moon rock into small pieces with scissors or a knife (avoid crushing by hand as the resin is sticky), then place it in a convection vaporiser heated between 170 °C and 190 °C. The aromas are released gradually.

It is also possible to crumble it gently into neutral hemp to vaporise it. Due to its density and sticky resin, the moon rock lends itself particularly well to vaporisation.
